Princess of Steel

UTT Onboard as Technical And Location Sponsor

The University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT) has entered into a strategic partnership with Caribbean AMP Studio Ltd. (CAMP Studio) to support the production of STREAM Champions: Princess of Steel, a UNESCO-supported educational film project that blends cultural storytelling, youth development, and STREAM education.

The partnership formalises UTT’s role as a Location Sponsor and Student Engagement Partner, providing access to key university facilities, academic expertise, and opportunities for student and faculty participation in technical and creative aspects of the production.

“This partnership allows students to engage meaningfully with a real production while contributing to a story that speaks directly to Caribbean youth, resilience, and innovation,.”

STREAM Champions: Princess of Steel forms part of a wider initiative aimed at using film as a tool for education, innovation, and cultural resilience, with a strong focus on Caribbean identity and youth leadership.

Under the agreement, UTT will facilitate limited access to selected campuses, including the NAPA and Tamana campuses, to support filming, interviews, and behind-the-scenes educational content. The partnership also creates pathways for student internships, technical collaboration, and hands-on learning across disciplines such as film, animation, fashion, sound engineering, renewable energy, sustainability, music, and post-production.

The collaboration further includes plans for post-release screenings at a UTT auditorium and joint marketing activities that highlight the role of education, innovation, and cultural preservation in national development.

Speaking on the partnership, CAMP Studio noted that UTT’s involvement strengthens the project’s educational foundation and ensures that the film reflects both creative excellence and institutional rigour.

“Timely, revolutionary, and supportive…”

UTT’s participation also extends to thought leadership, with academics and professionals contributing to educational segments focused on areas such as sound engineering, music technology, design, cultural preservation, and youth development.

In recognition of its contribution, UTT will receive on-screen credit and formal recognition across press materials, screenings, and promotional activities associated with the film, reinforcing the university’s role in advancing the arts, sciences, and national storytelling.

The partnership reflects a shared commitment by both institutions to leveraging education and creative industries as catalysts for social impact and sustainable development in Trinidad and Tobago and the wider Caribbean.
